The Living Proof Church family has been worshiping and ministering together since May of 2001. We began as a small church plant with a handful of people meeting in a home. God has taken us on an amazing journey through several facilities and has blessed us with the opportunity to meet at 309 Waltz Farm Drive in Williamsburg.
There is so much to do for the Lord in Williamsburg, our country and the world, and we believe that we can provide a place of service and worship for those who earnestly seek God’s will for their lives.
Living Proof Baptist church is partnered with the Southern Baptist Conservatives of Virginia. The SBCV is a fellowship of Southern Baptist Convention churches cooperating and assist local congregations in their task of fulfilling the Great commission as commanded by our Lord Jesus Christ: Matthew 28:18-20. Welcome from Our Pastor Eric Scholten
My name is Eric Scholten. I am a fairly normal guy, except for my abnormal height, who loves his Lord, loves his family, and loves his church. I have served God’s people at Living Proof Baptist Church as pastor since September 2009. I have the great responsibility and joy of standing each week before the body of Christ and saying, "Thus sayeth the Lord." While I don't actually use the King’s English, I do take the task of preaching and teaching seriously. Our church has given me the freedom to study and pray during the week so that I can proclaim to them the truth of God’s Word each week.
Speaking God’s words on matters of life and eternity into the hearts and minds of a group of people is a weighty task. I do so, as the Apostle Paul told the Corinthians, in weakness and in fear and with much trembling. It is my prayer that through the words God gives to me our church, our community, and our world would have a faith that does not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
1 Corinthians 2:3-5 "And I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling, and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God."
